Whoever thought of this idea was genius.
At a silent disco, everyone is given headphones that have lights on them corresponding to one of three DJ's. Red meant trap music, green was house, and blue was Motown.
This is a great way to have parties in a city or place of people without disrupting the residents with loud blaring music until 2 am.
Except when the blue DJ was playing spice girls and a lot of women in the room started singing along... at the top of their lungs... then the DJ just said ... you are going to get me fired and changed the music...
PLUS you have a full dance floor because people can switch the music right at their ears instead of leaving the room for a shitty DJ. And less wandering around the club. I loved it.
Plus if your dance partner wants to listen to one thing but you aren't feeling it... you can just flick the switch on your headphones and everyone is happy.
It's interesting with the colors on the headphones and the human herd mentality. If the majority of the dance floor is on blue, for instance, looking like they are rocking out and having a great time... more people will turn their headphones on blue just to check out what everyone is listening too even if they are enjoying their music on green.
Also, there are volume controls on the headphones so you don't have to blast the music in your ear but can listen at a volume that won't blow out your eardrums.
Super excited to celebrate my new jobs by partying... waking up tired and kinda dragging at work but hey I'm happy and having fun and having a great time with my girlfriends.
It's also really interesting when you take the headphones off and are surrounded by a bunch of people dancing and you have no idea what they are listening too.
The flamingo club was cool. An old Victorian on K street that displays movies on the wall and has a fun pink theme.
Pulling two short doubles at both jobs... today is day 7. I have a feeling I will just have to work a year straight between the both of them and I should be caught up on paying down my Credit card debt and can start saving for a house.
