I mean people were getting red helicoptered out frequently.
But this year they did it a little earlier in the year and the grass was still green and it wasn't as hot.
Let me tell you- this year I was also very tired going into the race.
Not only did I have to RUN from the parking lot and rush getting my bags checks and hop the wall just to make it on time to my start time- but I had just completed a week long back packing/ camping trip through Arizona and flew in the day before. So yeah this race was a little challenging for me.
BUT I HAD TO DO IT!
When you are tired everything is hard. I was running slow. I walked up to obstacles and nailed them (instead of running). They didn't have everything set up in the race due to logistic issues. (no twister but it was a blessing and saved me 30 burpees).
I want to due a front flip on the hurdles and cargo net but I haven't practiced so I just hop over.
One day in the future though I will start flipping.
The bucket brigade is getting easier with that hand grip!
Plus I think of carrying $30 million in gold bars in the bucket. It really helps.
DON'T EVER- NOT NEVER SET THE BUCKET DOWN.
GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME AND GET THROUGH IT!
I think I missed the spear throw and Olympus.
This is the Spartan Race Crew I meet up with.
And these ladies have helped me tremendously step up my fitness game.
Yes and the kids race too!
CONFESSION: I thought and thought about this race and how I would fit it into my vacation. And as soon as I gave up on going, my friend said she was interested and everything I mulled over for hours went right out the window. It was an interesting thought process. My heart wanted to go, my brain figured out ways OUT of it, the universe presented the opportunity, my heart won in the end.
Save yourself sometime and just follow your heart.
Its going to happen, just surrender.
